The Third Place is an urban therapeutic infrastructure designed as a community center for deceleration in the heart of Madrid. Created to combat the cognitive fatigue and isolation caused by the fast-paced metropolis, the project uses neuroarchitecture to guide users through a carefully crafted phenomenological journey. By transitioning from a highly stimulating exterior into progressively calmer spaces—starting with a sensory filter, moving through barrier-free social areas, and ending in a final haven of shared introspection—the center actively strips away urban stress. Ultimately, it acts as a restorative sanctuary where people can slow down, regain their focus, and naturally reconnect with themselves and their community.
